Chris Samaha

Flight Instructor

CFI

For me, the sky is not the limit. It’s a second home. My interest in aviation was sparked by a flight in 2016 at age 14. Every flight after that, I ended up in the captain’s seat in the flight deck, fascinated by the controls. On a delayed flight returning from Hawaii, I told my parents I was going to find out why there was such a long delay. After a couple minutes in the terminal, when my parents couldn’t find me, they, by chance, looked out the terminal window and saw me sitting in the captain’s seat on the plane. I had convinced the gate crew to let me board the plane to talk to the captain.

In my junior year of high school, I found out that I could dual enroll and take classes at the local community college that offered flight training. I was off and running. I mean, flying. After high school graduation, I continued at the same flight program and then transferred to Middle Tennessee State University in January 2020. Although originally in the Professional Pilot program, I opted to change majors and ultimately received my Bachelors of Science in Aerospace Maintenance Management, and I am FAA certified as an Airframe and Power Plant mechanic (which means I can fix planes as well as fly them). During that time, I completed my pilot training privately. In addition to my Private Pilot license, I received my Instrument rating and Commercial certificate (both single engine and multi-engine).

My goal as a flight instructor is to excite your interest in flying and keep it going no matter the ups and downs. The old saying that “if you love what you are doing, you’ll never work a day in your life” is true when you’re flying. I want to ensure you “never work a day in your life” by reaching your goal as an aviator.

One of the few born and raised Nashvillians left, coming from a studio musician father and a Cracker Barrel employed mother, aviation wasn't always something I thought I would make a career in. However, when I went to college I wanted to do something that I was passionate about and could find meaning in. The answer came in the form of airplanes, and once I discovered my passion for aviation I never looked back.

After graduating from the University of Memphis with a degree in Marketing I knew I wasn’t quite ready for a desk job much less an 8-5 job. I completed all of my training here at Harmony Air and was lucky enough to be given the chance to join the Harmony family as an instructor.

  • Daniel Smith

    Flight Instructor

    CFI, CFII, MEI, CTCI

I love the blend of science and art that is a part of every flight. A great flight is accomplished when a pilot understands how an airplane flies and artfully applies that knowledge to control the airplane to do what the pilot wants.

  • Bobby Joslin

    Flight Instructor

    CFI, CFII, MEI, ATP

I’d love to teach you how to fly. It’s the most freeing and rewarding experience you will ever have in your lifetime. Plus, you always have a reason to fly yourself to your vacation spot or fishing hole.

Charter Pilots

  • Mike Piampiano

    Charter Pilot

    CFI, CFII, MEI, ATP

For as long as I can remember, my dream has been to become an airline pilot. I took my first flying lesson in May of 1971 at the age of 13 and earned my Private Pilot certificate in June of 1976.

  • David Hill

    Chief Pilot

    CFI, CFII, MEI, CTCI

My earliest memories are of wanting to be a pilot. I was introduced to flying around the age of 8 when I convinced my father to take me to the grass strip in our West Tennessee town for a flight in a PiperTri-Pacer. I then looked for every excuse to fly with the construction company my father worked for.
